Changing filament mid-print

Gigabot Filament detection unit
Automatic filament detections on GB3 printers and GB2 printers with filament detection retrofit kit installed.
When filament runs out while printing:
- Small 3mm retraction.
- Bed moves down 5mm.
- Print head moves to the front center of machine.
- Large 80mm retraction.
- Hot-end cools down.
- Viki message displays message to change filament.
Remove remaining filament from filament tube. Replace filament spool and feed new filament into filament tube up to the extruder.
- Press center button on Viki to initiate heating of hot-end.
- When hot-end is up to temperature Viki message will change from "Heating" to "Extrude".
- Turn Viki hand wheel clockwise to feed filament through extruder into the hot-end. Continue until you see filament extruding from hot-end.
- Press center button on the Viki to resume the print.
Pausing and resuming a print
- Using Pronterface
- Click on Pause button at top of screen
- Click on Home X button
- Click on Home Y button
- Reverse extruder 80mm
- Turn off extruder heat
- Remove filament
- Open filament tensioner, inspect and clean drive gear
- Insert new filament
- Close filament tensioner
- Set extruder temperature
- Click on Home X
- Click on Home Y
- Click on Resume button
